Stephen Keshi National U-17 Tournament: Insurance Feeders set up a tricky final with Hollandho FC as Excellent FC battle Kaita FC for bronze

Defending champions, Insurance Feeders of Edo have qualified for the final of the 4th edition of the Stephen Keshi National U-17 Football Tournament as they beat Kaita FTB of Kano 2-0 at the Crescent Sports Club,  Benin City on Saturday.

Stubborn Kaita FC did all they could to frustrate the free-flowing play and attacking push of Insurance Feeders, but the young vipers would not relent.

A further push by the Benin based side paid off moments later earned a penalty after a Kaita FC player handled an Isaac Justice goal-bound shot- Efe Joka stepped forward to convert and give Insurance the much-deserved lead with a few minutes left to play in the first half.

Trust Oyiboke paid back the faith of Coach Seyi Stanley as he came on from the bench to score the second goal of the game.

In the other semi-final between Excellent FC lost 3-4 to Hollandho FC on penalties at the same venue.

The encounter had ended 1-1 at regulation time.

In the shoot out, the Port Harcourt boys had the better of the Ughelli side via the kicks to send themselves to the final. Excellent Academy had advanced to the semi-final via shoot out after beating 8-7, but their luck met a hard rock in the semi-final and they will now look to fight for the bronze when they face their northern counterparts.

Insurance Feeders will face Hollandho FC in the final on Sunday.
