Insurance will pray their luck shines today, though they must be clinical in front of goal against a determined Remo Stars who only need a point to confirm their slot in the apex league of the country. The Vipers have not been at their best so far in this tournament losing or dropping points from winning positions on two different occasions; first against 3SC on Tuesday and secondly against Ekiti United on Friday.
Remo goes into this encounter refreshed as they sit out of the pitch when Insurance were battling for 3 points against Ekiti United and will look favorite to pick maximum points. With four goals scored so far and just one conceded, the Soname boys are a threat to Insurance leaking defense who have conceded 3 and managed two, one from the spot and the other from substitute Imade Osarenkhoe.
For Remo, Morgan Agbeko will be solely depended on to wreck havoc against Insurance and the Vipers need not be told how they must work around, haven seen what he’s done so far in his team’s two previous matches.
This is the third time Remo and Insurance will clash this year with the later having edged the former out in the first leg of the regular season with a goal to nil victory, courtesy Daniel Johnson from the penalty spot in the second half of the encounter. The second leg ended in stalemate and in a brawl afterwards as some Remo Stars supporters encroached the pitch to dish out beatings on Insurance players after one of them was adjuged to have slapped a Remo official.
Today’s game will be a tough one to call between the two sides and will warrant the referees to be at their A game in what will be the decider of who progresses to the NPFL between the two sides.
Who goes through between the two sides, the technical bench of both teams have questions to answer with their team selection.
