The name on the lips of every football fan presently in Norway is Leke James.
The FC Molde striker has netted 7 goals this season, added to his seventeen last season to become the toast of the Norwegian league.
He is so loved by football fans that they sing his praise every where on the streets, while school children have made beautiful songs out of his surname.
Yet with all his popularity, he is like the proverbial king that is not appreciated back home.
Leke was guest of the award winning whatsapp platform NSM Rebranded on Monday and he took time to express his joy as a football player in the Norwegian league. He thanked Super Eagles captains John Obi Mikel and Willian Troost Ekong, who once played in the Norwegian league, for opening the door for others like himself to come show what they are made of.
He promised that if given the chance to play for the Super Eagles, he won’t leave without proving a point.
With 17 goals last season and seven already this season, Leke is making his presence felt and the Nigeria media has promised to promote him beyond boarders.
On his part, Leke who has also played in China fir Beijing Enterprise is contributing the sum of 200,000 naira ( two hundred thousand naira to 20 outstanding sports journalist to activate their monthly data for the next 5months.
He said this is a token of his appreciation to the media for a job well done. He appealed to other Nigerian footballers in the diaspora to support the sporting media and see them as their partners in progress.
