The Nigerian National League (NNL) has confirmed the rescheduling of the abandoned match between DMD FC and Gombe United as well as the match involving Bendel Insurance and Ekiti United in group A for Friday 10th September, 2021, Scorerfootballmagazine.com can report.

The match was abandoned on the 65th minute after the pitch became unplayable due to heavy down pour – Gombe United were leading by a goal to nil before Patience Madu, the center referee consulted the match commissioner, team officials and called off the match.

The last set of matches between DMD and Niger Tornadoes, Gombe United and Elkanemi Warriors in group B, Ekiti United vs Shooting Stars Sports Club and Bendel Insurance vs Remo Stars have now been rescheduled – to simultaneously hold at the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium and the University of Nigeria, Nsuka Sports complex in a bid to wade off any form of match fixing in the last group matches – for Saturday 11th September, 2021.

Earlier, two late goals in six minutes from Daniel Edeh from the penalty spot on the 86th minute and substitute, Nurudeen Jimoh on the 90th minute were all enough from a Niger Tornadoes side who put up a stellar performance in beating one of the favourite, Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri by two goals to nothing.

3SC and Remo Stars played out a one all draw in a fiercely contested match on a hot Nnamdi Azikwe stadium football pitch – Okachi Anthony barely played for five minutes after he was sent in for MFM export, Ebenezer Odeyemi on the 67th minute, had a solo run into the box of Remo with a brilliant composure, mesmerized his markers and his vision was sharp to find the low left angle of the opponents’ goal. Morgan Agbeko on the 86th minute on his own benefited from a dropped parried ball by Dede to push home for an equaliser on the 86th minute.

The two teams now have four points each and are in good position to claim the two available NPFL tickets in group A.

According to the head of Media and communication of the NNL, Ama Ignis, all the last group matches will now be played on Saturday and the final for Sunday, September 12, 2021.
