The dates for the commencement and closing of the Nigeria Women Football League 2020 has been deliberated and agreed upon as the women football stakeholders all gathered in Benin-City the capital of Edo State on Tuesday for the 2020 AGM of the NWFL.
The glamorous event which was held at the Edo Heritage hotel and had in attendance the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu, attracted the creme-de-la creme of women football in Nigeria, much to the delight of the Chairperson NWFL, Aisha Falode.
” The timing for this event is perfect, as this year 2020 makes it thirty years of women league football in Nigeria. It is therefore only important that we take bold and intentional steps towards achieving the NWFL we all can be proud of.” Aisha Falode disclosed at the Annual General Meeting.
” The thirty year anniversary of the women league football in Nigeria and Africa is a major milestone that is worthy of celebration, and we have highlighted various programs and projects towards making this the turning point in women league football in Nigeria and Africa.” Aisha Falode further stressed.
The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu also heaped praises on the NWFL board adding that the team has been able to keep the women league going inspite of the absence of sponsorship.
