It is officially 30 days to the commencement of the National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020.
The 20th edition of the nation’s biggest sporting get together fixed for March 22nd-April 1st 2020 in Benin, is expected to bring together over 11,500 Athletes and another half of that attending as officials, Journalists and visitors.
The Governor of the state, Mr Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu looked sharp in their sporting attire as they declared a 30-day countdown to the games in a short but elaborate countdown at the Government House in Benin on Friday.
“Today is 31 days to the National Sports Festival, tomorrow is the commencement of the official 30 day countdown, 2020 is a leap year and it is the year of the elections, so much to look forward to” the Governor declared excitedly.
“Over 11,500 athletes are being expected and Edo is ready for the world”, the Deputy-Governor responded when asked about the figures by his Governor.
