Delta State U-15 boys football team trashed their counterparts from Bayelsa State 3-0 on Saturday evening to cement it’s place at the National Youth Sports Festival billed for Ilorin, Kwara State in September.
The Okowa boys left no one in doubt about their readiness to qualify from the South South zone as they pumelled the boys from Yanagoa with three unreplied goals in a largely one sided game watched by a sizeable crowd inside the St Patrick’s College Asaba.
The boys from Delta had earlier pipped team Edo by a goal to nothing in the opening group match to bag maximum 6 points from two games in the group.
The 3-0 defeat of Bayelsa State by Delta has now opened the qualification doors for Edo State as only a draw of any colouration is needed by the Obaseki boys to head for Ilorin.
The match between Bayelsa and Edo State is billed for same venue by 8am on Sunday.
