NWFL Super Six: University of Benin Center And Cool Places To Visit

Knowing Where To Be Before And After Match At The Uniben Center – let me be your map

Arguably one of the best sports centres and football pitches in Nigerian universities. The Uniben sports centre will be hosting five games of the Super Six this year and it surely will be a good place for you to enjoy.

University of Benin Sports complex mainbowl

The same venue has in time past hosted big games, NUGA, National Sports Festival – indoors and outdoors – as well as Bendel Insurance Matches in the NNL and NPFL; so there’s nothing to worry about.

The Sports Center will comfortably accommodate 2,000 spectators at a go, the VIP stand included

It has five entry and exit points – enough to control crowds and save stampedes, in case of emergency.

There are three grass training pitches and one synthetic in the complex – enough for two teams to warm-up ahead of their games

The main pitch has good soil and a working drainage system that absorbs water in minutes – in case it rains

There are enough spaces to have vehicles parked, including big buses of any size.

Four of the five matches at this centre are scheduled for 10 am and the last on the final day, 11 am. But there are enough floodlights to illuminate the pitch and fans stand – if at all there would be a need for using it.

Three dressing rooms – for the teams and match officials

I’m quite sure this place will serve the teams playing there very well.

Teams with some games at the Uniben Center
Bayelsa Queens – 2 Matches

Okay, let’s move away from the football part and let’s talk about pre or post-match relaxation points.

You must take care of your body before and after every game and at the Uniben Center, there are very good areas you can surely cool off your sad mood, should your team lose or celebrate after every game won.

1. Irex Bar: Irex Bar is situated adjacent to the Uniben main gate and 10 meters from the overhead bridge – Ringroad direction. Here, you have all privacy you could demand before or after any game.

At Irex Bar, you are sure of getting optimal satisfaction with a considerable amount. Food, drinks and lots more. Table Tennis and Snooker boards are other things you will enjoy during your time there.

The VIP lounge is also affordable and each of your demands comes at the clasping of your fingers.

Other places you can visit to chill are the Nadia Bakery, Stop & Shop and Ugbowo Cinema – 300 meters from the Uniben main gate – Lagos direction.

But on your way to the stadium from Uniben, Cold stone is awaiting you and Eat and Go – just tell any bus or cab that you want to stop at Dominos.

Let’s talk about transportation
For the “Street”, from the University of Benin gate to Ringroad will cost you 100 naira and from Ringroad to the stadium another 150 – if you can’t leg it. If you are dropped at Central Park, you can easily walk yourself to the stadium in 10 minutes or take a 150 bus going to Ekenwan – stop at the stadium gate.
